In June 2012, various participants in the “After Porn Ends” documentary participated in a fundraiser at Tailwaggers. The Los Angeles Animal Rescue coordinated the effort that was called “Porn Stars for Puppies.” Adult film stars had the opportunity to demonstrate how much they care about the furry friends who need so much time and attention. Christopher Mallick had spoken to each of these former stars in the quest to tell the story about people who have left the adult film industry. Their personal challenges have offered inspiration to others who have wondered if “normal life” is possible after leaving the industry.
Adult film stars were once able to participate in adult films and keep their professional lives separate from their personal lives. This is no longer possible because of the Internet. Christopher Mallick produced a documentary titled “After Porn Ends” to allow former adult film stars to share their struggles of attempting to leave the industry. Family members do not always accept the individual’s participation in adult films. The ability to keep the films secret used to prevent damage to personal relationships. The purpose of the documentary is to help people understand the hearts of the people who were interviewed on tape.
